Celebrate the sun

The sun finally peeked out of the clouds this AM and it may not last long. The meterologists are predicting unsettled weather and downpours later today. The 4th is looking somewhat more stable but Sunday should give us all reason to celebrate. So get your spray out for the tomato plants. I received emails from many a troubled soul that admitted to buying fungicide to deal with these weather conditions. With any type of chemicals, follow the directions on the label carefully. Use your best judgment - if the tomato is too far gone, remove it from your garden and don't compost it. Dispose of it in a plastic bag. Sunday is probably your best bet to spray if you are not too busy celebrating the sun! You need to have dry conditions. If we have a good batch of sunshine this weekend, I might try my luck at some sun tea. In any case, please have a safe and happy 4th!
