A Story to Tell

Like a great story, your home and garden can only be captivating with a flow and rhythm that speaks your presence. 

Everyone has a story to tell but it’s how we live out the story that determines if it's another sleeper or a bestseller. The same could be said for how we design our homes and our landscapes. Like a great story, your home and garden can only be captivating with a flow and rhythm that speaks your presence. The saying of ‘a home isn’t really a home if you don’t truly live in it’ can clearly relate to your gardens and landscape. A well-executed design on paper becomes nothing more than exterior window dressing if you can’t draw one into it. Like your home, your landscape should tell your story. And everyone has a story to tell. It’s whether you want to make it a sleeper or a bestseller.

Thursday’s Water Tips

Water is our most precious resource.

Because April is the month to celebrate Landscape Architecture and #Earthday activities, you might remember our April 2^nd post that talks about water and how we should apply basic conservation tips regardless where we live. We provided a #ThursdayThrowback water tip regarding our lawns, the biggest gulper of our water resources. Need some additional tips that relate to more than our landscapes? Visit this website, Saveourwater.com with plenty of water saving tips. It’s a document generated from California, the state mentioned in our April 2nd post. Due to the serious drought they face today, saving water is a must, not a feel-good thing to do. The pressure is being applied to save water daily. Don't live in California? You're not off the hook. We should all be practicing water conservation.  

Deepak Chopra states a general human reaction regarding our resources, water being one of our most precious. “When resources become skimpy, human beings don’t suddenly cooperate to conserve what’s left. They fight to the last scrap for possession of a diminishing resource.” That's why, specifically in this industry, we should be taking part in this message daily; not just April, not just #Earthday. Make water bountiful by conserving it rather than wasting it with these little steps you can take. When you appreciate something, you don’t take it for granted.
