The purpose of design is fairly straightforward – once it is carved in stone, it’s pretty darn hard to erase it. Design allows the freedom to vision on paper what you imagine it to be or what it can look like before it is etched into permanency. As Primo Levi, the Italian author pointed out, “Human memory is a marvelous but fallacious instrument. The memories which lie within us are not carved in stone; not only do they tend to become erased as the years go by, but often they change, or even increase by incorporating extraneous features.” So don’t forget last week’s post about starting simple with the basics.
